Dear Patron,
Greetings! Namaste!
On behalf of the Yeti Airlines management and staff, I invite you to participate in this wonderful journey that we undertook way back in 1998. Two decades ago Yeti Airlines took to the skies and commenced operations with one DHC6-300 Twin Otter aircraft.
Today, together with our sister airline, Tara Air, we have spread our wings to serve the widest network of destinations in Nepal – operating the largest number of aircraft in the country. Our dedication to ensuring passengers the best experience of flying to their destinations in comfort and safety has set new standards of service excellence in the domestic airline industry. Yeti Airlines is proud to announce that we are now Nepal’s most preferred airline and will always strive to raise the benchmark higher in the aviation sector.
Yeti Airlines and Tara Air are IATA-approved ISSA Operators. We were the first and at present only Nepalese airline to attain IATA-approved global safety standards. Our unyielding commitment and focus on operational safety meet internationally recognised standards. That’s why Yeti Airlines continues to remain as the airline of choice among the travel trade and Nepalese passengers.
But flying is not the only thing we do! Our pioneering Corporate Social Responsibility programme has generated over NPR 17,000,000 in cash donations for charitable trusts and welfare organizations working in Nepal. We hope our example encourages other businesses to give back to the community too.
Being green at heart we have attempted to lighten our carbon footprint by helping plant over 250,000 tree saplings all over Nepal. Yeti Airlines is also the first airline in Nepal, and most probably South Asia, to successfully reduce and offset its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in 2018, replicating the UN’s ‘Greening the Blue’ approach to climate neutrality. As part of the emission reduction plan, between 2017 and 2018, we were able to reduce the CO2 equivalent emissions per flight km by 20% and per passenger by 12% after adopting a more fuel-efficient aircraft fleet.
As a company doing responsible business, we are proud to partner and work with the United Nations for their global cause. The SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, is a bold, universal agreement to end poverty in all its dimensions and craft an equal, just and secure world – for the people, the planet, and prosperity – by 2030. We invite and encourage others from the private sector to join hands with the United Nations and the Government of Nepal to help make the SDGs a reality. Jointly we can dream and build a better tomorrow for our nation.
With your partnership and support, we will continue our charitable and eco-friendly endeavors with renewed vigor. As we fly higher and further I would like to thank all of you for the trust and continued support you have provided us over all these years - this journey would never have been possible without you.
Warmest regards
Mrs. Chanda Sherpa
